Phrase is group of word which is not having subject and verb. Sometimes, phrase occurs in a beginning of sentence. it is combined with another sentence.
For example:
- A man with his book
- At the end of this block
For advanced student, there are 5 commonly kinds of phrase:
- Adverb phrase : too highly
- Adjective phrase : very angry
- Noun Phrase : a big box
- Preposition Phrase : on vacation
- Verb Phrase: watch tv
The another pattern of phrase, we can find them on present participle or past participle
- The running man (present participle)
- The washed car (past participle)
