You must remember all of these parralism.

neither…..nor….
not only….but also….
so….that…..
because….of….
responsible…for….
contain…of…
both…of….

if you want to combine 2 noun, you must follow this:

Noun + of + Noun
Ex: Knights of cydonia

Modal:
What is modal?modal is a verb helper.Simple way, it is subtituted a verb if you don’t need a verb.
Subject + (can,could, will,would, shall, should, must, might,etc) + V1
Ex:

I can make these cakes

She might consider her decision

Recognizing a sentence with active and passive patterns

A sentence, normally, is an active pattern.but, sometimes is not.

You must understand how a sentence builded with tenses.ok, let me show you an example:

the car is moved around us

now, recognize the sentece. First time, we think that sentence is typically wrong, but it isn’t. The sentence builded with present tense and passive sentence.how to meet the passive sentence? here the basic rule for passive sentence.

Verb 3 used for passive sentence in grammar. but there are some rules if it isn’t a present tense.

• Present perfect tense

S + HAS/HAVE+BEEN+V3

Ex: Oil has been found in that sea

• Past tense

S + WAS + V3

Ex: She was commanded by our captain

• Present continuous tense

S + WILL + BE +V3

Ex: Your mail will be replied as soon as possible

Many exception in toefl, the most easiest how to recognize a passive sentence is “by” word (Past Tense example). If you find a “by” word consider it is a passive sentence. Do not directly answer the question with passive choice, read the question carefully!.

Basic sentence

In every languange, a sentence, basically contains of 1 subject and 1 verb (predicate). You must understand how to make or read a sentence carefully. Let me show you basic pattern of sentence:

Sentence = S + V

------------------------------

so, there is an example of that pattern:

1. the boy walks on the street
2. a beautiful wowan cooks at the kitchen
3. They read a book

They words that marked with red color are subject and other ones are verb. Oh, I forget to show you how a subject meet the verb correctly.here the rules:

1. if  subject is singular, then the verb should be added with S
2. if  subject is plurar, the the verb prohibitally shouldn’t be added with S

what is the singular and plural subject?

a singular subject contains of :

• She, he, it
• a fish, a cat, etc
• your book, your bra,etc

then plural subject:

• They, we, you
• our cars, our stuffs

ok, here we go. you should identify how a complete sentence recognized.
